Description:

Whitfield Gill is a rugged boulder strewn gill high up in the Wensleydale valley above Askrigg. The gill holds two waterfalls and is not to be confused with Mill Gill Force which you will almost certainly pass en-route to Whitfield Gill. The first fall on the gill is just below a bridge which crosses the gill, this fall is easily identified by its dark brown brick wall appearance. The drop of the water is around 15 feet here. The second and main fall, Whitfield Force is far more trickier to reach requiring the need to scramble down a steep slope. If you make it you will be greeted by the water from the gill flowing over a 25 foot drop.
